Pat saw these wild flowers and pulled over.

Streams twisted their way through the meadows.

We rolled into Bridgeport, ate huge club sandwiches at the Bridgeport
Inn, tanked
up our water bottles and Camelbacks and started back.

We couldn't get enough of the beauty of the meadows before the mountains.
We had to stop and take more pictures. I guess we caught the wet season.
Most of the time this area is quite arid.

The easy climb over Devil's Gate was not so easy going back. We'd breezed

We took no pictures coming back up 395 over Devil's Gate—we had our heads

In the morning we'd chatted
with a couple of locals at the top of Sonora Pass who
encouraged us to look for Levitt Falls as
we descended. "You
have to visit it—but it's easy to miss." We missed it.
Climbing back up we made a quest of finding it.

There's a platform overlooking the falls.
|
|
It serves as a nice rest stop after a brutal pitch
of climbing.
